Hi, I’m Anne Marie (Battista) Coogan. I live in Washington, DC with my husband, our two children, and our dog.
My background is in education policy and human-centered design, where I spent years creating thoughtful, well-structured experiences to help people share honest feedback and make sense of complex decisions. I’ve always been drawn to listening closely, asking the right questions, and turning what can feel overwhelming into something clear and manageable.
Over time, I found myself bringing those same instincts into my personal life—sitting with family members as we sorted through a lifetime of belongings, capturing the stories behind them, and figuring out how to make thoughtful decisions about what to keep, pass down, or let go.
In those moments, I saw how much a process like this really matters. Not just logistically, but emotionally. Stories can so easily be lost. Decisions can feel heavy or unclear. And when someone passes, loved ones are often left to navigate it all without much context or guidance.
Those experiences are what led me to this work.
I now support individuals and families who want to approach their belongings with more intention—whether that’s organizing meaningful items, preserving family stories, or navigating a transition like downsizing. My goal is to make the process feel calmer, more thoughtful, and far less overwhelming.
At its core, this work is about bringing clarity to the things that matter and creating space to reflect on what you want to carry forward.
